[And with other such platitudes as that, he allows himself to be led around, all the while looking around. This place isn't so unfamiliar to him as all that -- Rapunzel had asked him to come here to help her move things out after Diva left -- but that was a while ago.]
[then he'll likely notice that not much has changed since he visited that day. everything is dusted and orderly but the downstairs area looks, for the most part, unused and a little uninviting with its emptiness. he's left all of the doors open, save the one in the breezeway that leads to the garden and the one directly across from that.
the door to the "garage" at the end of the hall is ajar too, and he shoves it open the rest of the way when he reaches it.]
All right, here you are. The door on the outside leading into this area is over there- [a gesture to the adjoining outer room] -and you can enter the garden from it. Both rooms are open for your use, if you'd like. [it is a lot of space... the other room seems to house a metric ton of gardening equipment though, and there's a small corner in the first room that has a tarp slung over it.]
no okay he's not a messy eater... the only thing under the tarp is several small boxes filled with papers which, if he looks at any, just appear to be sheet music for operatic classics.]
I'll have to ask you to refrain from using fire in this room, obviously. Papers and paints are a little more flammable than porch wood.
[He laughs, though not with any particular mirth.]
I'm developing a finer control over it, in general. I suspect by the time I'm granted access to the third tier of fire magic, control over the level of the flame will no longer be a fire hazard.
[He replaces the tarp.]
It's nice. Thank you again. [He strolls around the room, peeking into the outside room to see if there's anything stored in there, either.]
Are you on the second level right now, then? [and does that mean that it's a fire hazard right now and practice was being done on his front porch anyway.....
he folds his hands behind his back and nods in reply to the thanks, watching Itsuki roam around. the outside room is well organized; bags of potting soil are stacked against one wall and rows of trowels, watering cans and buckets filled with seed packs line the rest. the only thing somewhat out of place is the floor, which is unusually clean.]
Do you have any plans on what you'll be using the space for yet, out of curiosity?
[SCREW YOUR PORCH it's what you get for making people wait.]
I can't say for sure. Research, in general, would certainly be the main purpose, technological research. Perhaps a bit of stockpiling, as well. But, ah, I should ask about that... I imagine you have quite a bit of emergency supplies yourself already?
[this punishment doesn't fit the crime at all!! he gets a brief disapproving look...]
Emergency supplies as in a fire extinguisher in case you actually set something on fire the next time, or food, water and the like? Because I have neither. I might have a first aid kit, though. [helpful]
If I'm to stockpile, I'll need to know what items to stockpile. If that's the case, feel free to store as much food or water as you see fit, since I likely won't. It would be a little too difficult to store my sustenance outside of a hospital and I don't wish to waste space storing things that wouldn't be useful supplies.
Of course. I don't think it would be much help for most storing your sustenance - it will never be equipped as a hospital here, after all. But I'll do whatever stockpiling becomes necessary.
The hospital is nearby anyway, so it isn't a terrible situation to be in. [a shrug, which is followed by a curt nod to indicate his approval for storing whatever's needed.]
But about the studies. Is this enough room to conduct research on things like that?
I can't very well dig an underground tunnel connecting my house to the hospital, so I'll make do with what I have.
That said, as long as you promise not to build any underground tunnels, break any of the walls or the ceiling, keep your fire in check and leave any stray animals outside, the room is now yours for whatever purpose you'd like.
Please don't say something that implies you wouldn't mind an underground tunnel right after I give you access to my house. [that's how he interprets it, at least. KIDS ON HIS LAWN tearing up his petunia beds for their power plants and underground labyrinths...!!]
If you know anyone capable of creating something like that without compromising the structural integrity of the house, be my guest. [...is what he says, but he doesn't actually mean it, which he doesn't say. gold standard communication!]
The damages will be on your head if you can't manage that. [he will be scrutinizing the area for burn marks just you wait.
that said, he gives the room another quick glance before turning back to the hall.] But that ought to be it, then. If you have any other questions, leave a note if I'm not here. Otherwise, have at it.

[He directly points at the tarp.]
May I ask what's under there?

I was referring to food, water, and the like. I personally have no concerns about my fire powers.

As for that -- perhaps not in the long term. In the short term I don't see why not.
